    Default Not happy either

I got home from the club on Wednesday to find my wife on the
kitchen floor after being there for over one and a quarter hours.

She had crawled a little way from where she fell in a bid to attract
the attention of a passing catalogue walker but was not heard.

Our telephones were out of reach so she just had to stay put until
    I arrived home.

I immediately rang an ambulance, which took just over an hour to
arrive, and transported her to the Northern Hospital. She was
diagnosed with a dislocated left shoulder, now in place again,
    and a cracked left kneecap.

Seven hours later we returned home so now she is dosed up with
pain killers and has me as her personal slave. She is probably
going to need a competent physio to get her going again.

Having her arm in a sling is going to look great for the wedding
photos of our grandson and his bride this Sunday.

Life is never dull in Wallan.

Just think - those wedding photos will raise questions for generations to come - and she will always be recognised. Suggest she makes a stylish sling matching the wedding outfit and wears it with pride and the certainty of not being mistaken for "aunty Jan or someone...." in the photos EVER

Best wishes for her (and your) recovery.

Gees Allan! What rotten timing, but at least Val will be able to attend the wedding with you and your family's help. I hope she has a speedy recovery and soon will be chasing you around the house checking up on how well you have done your housekeeping.

And on White Ribbon Day too, what will they think if they don't have the whole story?
Seriously though a quick return to normal all round.

Thanks Joe, Ray, Russell and Hugh for your thoughts.

Scott, many thanks for your offer. Yes, you could help
by dancing with my wife at our grandson's wedding.
I dislike dancing at any time but can't see her being
happy with me hanging onto her crook arm to do a
    "progressive barn dance" on Sunday.

Sorry to hear about the good ladys fall.

Was there a reason for the fall or just lost her footing.

She was washing the kitchen sink and spilled a very small amount
of water on to the floor. She turned to go and get the mop but
    lost her footing.

She put her arm out to avoid hitting her head on the benchtop
and in doing so put her shoulder out before crashing to the floor
    and further injuring herself.

Is it any wonder I wont let her use my chainsaw or lathe.

Hmm, so you'd trust someone who has two left feet themselves? And a left hander who destroys his left hand drinking a cup of milo?

    Just a small progress report.

Val has had her first physio session and coping fairly well
with the "manhandling", (and that's just from me).

I have never seen her so happy ... sitting back in the chair,
ordering a coffee and biscuits, telling me I have missed a
bit of dust on the floor when I have vacuumed, driving her
wherever she desires, sending me to the supermarket more
frequently than she would normally go, making the bed plus
washing and hanging out the clothes. The clothes have been
on the line for a week and she hasn't realised that I have not
    brought them in yet.

As for cooking, sooner or later she will be sick of eating my
specialty - rissoles with mashed spuds, pumpkin, peas etc.
    with thick gravy.

Gee's Allan come on you could at least take her out for dinner KFC Macca's Pizza a Chinese even. I find it strange tho you must be making her use the front door not dropping her at the back door.

Glad she survived the dance/wedding. Now its just your cooking.

Hope the good lady continues to improve Allan. I am sure she is enjoying every moment of it now. Keep him on his toes Val.
