Otto Bock is a manufacture of Prosthetic parts.
Tool would be used on sockets to fit on an amputation or malformed body part.

Sorry Handyjack, I wasn't trying to build up your hopes of a budget hip replacement, it was meant to be a joke. My apologies to any forum members for any false hope created by my seriously misleading thread title. God forbid that there be any levity introduced into this most serious of sub-forums.

Still, this may present an opportunity for any members in need of a replacement limb?

Tool looked familiar to me. Seen that type in the prosthetic's department tool room.

Originally prosthetics were made using wood components, including the sockets. Most of the work would have been done with hand tools. These days I doubt if there is any wood, but there is still a lot of hand fashioning as each piece is unique. As the recipient changes so the sockets need to be changed.

Aldav, at least the machine has dust extraction although more than likely the system isn’t good enough.....now to finish your hip you just need a Festool domino.
