    Default Hip replacement surgical review.

About four years ago I had my right hip replaced, within very short order I fell over, not once by twice, the last time falling very heavily on the hip. It was a bit sore so saw my surgeon. He did psoas tendon release and Bursa removal. Over the next few months it got worse, so the surgeon did the same again. No relief and it got worse so I got a second opinion. This Doc looked at the images and saw the socket was installed incorrectly so the tendon was rubbing on it. He also picked up the ball tang had come loose.
So, here I am in hospital again post hip replacement review flat on my back and in much pain. The first nurse said I'd just have to put up with the pain, the second gave me two panadol.

But, that's not the end of it. I told them when I was admitted I would be handling my insulin requirements, experience has told me to do this.

So here I am at 4 am vomitting into a barf bark, with a level close to 20 and the on call doctor is withholding insulin.

This was supposed to be a five day stay, but I think I will discharge myself in a few hours when the wife comes to visit unless the doc comes to his senses.

Funny, I thought docs were supposed to listen to their patients, supply post op care in a sensible, responsible and appropriate way.

    Guess I was wrong.

Maybe not wrong, just outvoted by "experts".

I have met many over qualified/under experienced people.
