It is a big and new project but we're in a civilian timeframe with the public backing strongly any devotion of resources.

I typed out that it's been 2 years and WW2 went from the Battle of Britain to the Battle of Midway in that period of time. Then I realised really 18 months. But that still felt apt.

These include anaphylaxis but more important myocarditis and pericarditis, all at 1 in 100,000 - same as the AZ vaccine.
Interestingly the side effects affect the younger population more, just like the AZ vaccine.

So what do we do? Wait and pin our hopes on the Moderna vaccine that is due in October? I registered to get immunized and OMG, the Qld Health system is typical of government, so I gave up and will find a private doctor now.

A good analogy, but the difference is that those in the annals (you have to be awfully careful to spell that one correctly) of power don't move quickly until it affects them directly such as when they contract the virus themselves or they see their approval ratings plummeting. During WW2 there was an immediate threat with the evidence already right across Europe.

The real similarity is that in neither instance was the government of the day prepared despite warning signs.

    Hi,
    Got my second jab today.
It was scheduled for last week but two hours before I was due to turn up they phoned and rescheduled it one hour short of a week later.
    Regards

I was riding past the Brighton Health Campus (Brisbane) and asked if they were doing walk in's. Got a yes and scored a Pfizer. Second jab tomorrow.

My son, in London, had his second dose of Moderna a few days ago. Laid him flat out in bed for two days.

That's interesting, I have asked all my American friends via email or FB messenger who have got Moderna and they haven't had, or heard of anyone getting side effects.

I had second Astra shot last week - only very minor fever (4-5 hours) from the first shot, no ill effects at all from the second.

Person in front of me enquiring at the clinic reception (who had to be in their mid 50s) was given the choice between AstraZeneca "this morning" or Pfizer "towards the end of October, but can't guarantee that". You guessed it - they still insisted on waiting for Pfizer.

    There's your problem.

    Default Take care

Take care everyone, I've read a few things about the new Delta variant that might cause some consternation --->

....leaping from target to target more swiftly than Ebola or the common cold.

    Be safe, healthy and sensible.

Some USA Reddit users were relating their tales and it isn't pretty. There is even a lot of talk on Slashdot about it, and they are NOT the crowd that wastes time on trivia.... its important.

The article may turn out to be FUD, as it isn't official CDC, but.....

Had my 2nd dose of AZ yesterday; same as the 1st dose totally reaction free.

No lollipops were being handed out so I rewarded myself with a Tormek T8

Had my second at 10am Monday. Zero reaction in 36 hrs.

    Zero.

The first was... unpleasant... so I'm very pleased with that.

No Tormek giftie though They must have been out.
