Robert, I had AF and VT combined about 16 years ago, after many tests I was put on Amiodorone which stopped the irregular heart beat. After about 10 months on the drug I began to have serious side effects, about 4% of patients are affected. The cardiologist should have done tests at 6 months , but didn't, so I sacked him. New cardiologist, new drug, Tamborcor, haven't had any heart troubles since, still get checked every 6 months.

Hi Specialist heres wishing you a speedy recovery - two weeks ago my brother mentioned to me that earlier that day he had suddenly become out of breath, it happened again a coule of days later so he went to see the Dr. To make a long story short today he had open heart surgery for a triple by-pass.

The visit to the hospital revealed that I have what they called AF arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation) which means that the two top chambers of the heart are out of rhythm. While not immediately life threating, it is very uncomfortable to have. A three day stay in the intensive care unit ensued, because to stabilize the heart they used a drug that required that I stay on a heart monitor for around 48 hrs because it has the capacity damage the heart. This was to get the heart to beat in the same rhythm and stabilize the heart rate.

I currently have 2 weeks off to see how the drug called amiodarone will react to me and how it keeps me in rhythm, there are many side effects.
The last three days have been a roller coaster with the heart going in and out of rhythm, the nurses said that it could happen, so it's a waiting game to see how it pans out.

There is still more to do, a trip to a cardiologist etc.

This is pretty much all I know at the moment until the next doctors appointment in two weeks time.

Hi Robert it was great meeting you.
I am sorry to hear about things, when I called in on you the other day you did say you had a heart problem but I did not like to ask any questions I am glad there is a medical fix on things.
I really enjoyed you showing me around the shed you have a great setup with all that machinery and plenty of room to boot
Your tips on the mortising machine were very handy and thanks for the beef wood.
I am back home now and getting back into things.
You may remember me telling you about my road grader and the slow work rate 9 months and not all that much to show, well I done a WIP that was a bit embarrassing seeing there was only 12 wheels two motor housing and one fuel tank I have to build two graders 2 grandsons and that’s who they are for anyway I plan to get into thing’s now and have something to show soon…. Well maybe in 8weeks!

That's not good news at all; time out of the shed to boot.
I hope & pray the new medication works as the doctors suggest and that you're back both at work & in the shed post haste.
