Thread: A sore foot - and then some real problems

Some time back our next door neighbour went to see the doctor about a sore foot that was persistent.
The doctor checked him over and noticed a lump on his neck. Neighbour said he was due to have some
work done on a couple of teeth but the doctor took a couple of biopsies and the result was throat cancer.

So teeth were actually extracted and the cancer was found att the back of his tongue and elsewhere.
Since then it has been weekly trips to Bris. for combined Chemo and radiation therapy. A couple of weeks of that to go.

The prognosis is pretty upbeat but neighbour has lost a lot of weight and looks like he is badly sunburned.
Can't stay in the sun AT ALL, and has difficulty eating although he has a tube through which he can be fed.

This fellow is a crackerjack bloke so I really do hope the prognosis is correct and thank goodness for an observant and pro-active doctor.
