Therapy multipliers - getting old ain't for weaklings
Doing the physio-prescribed exercises for one problem threw up a worse one.
And it was down to me ... overdid it. And ended up with the same symptoms as with a cracked rib.
Message to family, FFS no jokes! (And no sneezes, coughs or alarms).
Lord above, I spend more and more of my time trying to push back the tide so's I can do what I've always done.
My physio is a gem; he's read my body responses like a quack does an ECG. And now the sod is heading off for the big bucks paid by sport clubs in the northern and southern hemispheres. And my Xmas gift of a good red hasn't deterred him .. I clearly have to crank up the incentives.
So now I have to break in a new physio. And pay for it. Maybe I should get tough: you're on probation; the first three consults will be at no net charge and then I'll decide whether to continue with you.Cheers, Ern

Indeed Peter.
This instance wasn't me trying to be Superman though; the 'push back' takes the form of modest exercises prescribed by the physio to get the muscles to activate better. The frustration is that doing that provokes a reaction later so I miss real-time data to regulate what I do.
Anyway; it's a minor prob. compared with what you and others have gone through.Cheers, Ern

I still recommend Tai chi. Teaches your body to move in an efficient way with corect allignment and all that. Usually entails doing LESS not more. I now feel I am still improving physically, rather than wearing out.

A rhomboid if I heard the physio right along with the Teres Major. The aim was to get the rhomboids to activate at the same time as the pecs so as to avoid the shoulder joint being pulled away from its socket.
That then had the side-effect of stiffening up the spinal facets.Cheers, Ern

Trouble comes in 3's alright
Carpal tunnel syndrome is back. Thought I had it accidentally licked when the wrist on the other hand was broken and all the new and varied use of this hand killed the symptoms several years ago.
Now the paw is in a splint 24/7 for 3 weeks. Then overnight for another 3.

Woohoo. Symptoms have abated after two and a half weeks in the splint.
For good behaviour the wrist can now come out for a few hours at a time.Cheers, Ern
