DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor. I have no medical training. The following is from personal experience only.

Recently I became aware that my blood pressure medication can cause hearing loss, tinnitus and balance problems. For several years, I've had fluctuating hearing loss and on-and-off severe balance problems. I visited several EN&T specialists but none suggested this possibility. The usual recommendation was that I exit via the Hearing Aid Lab. Not once was the the possibility of drug-induced hearing loss mentioned.

I don't like taking drugs so became curious about side-effects using a Google Scholar search. (That eliminates the commercially-motivated articles issued by the drug companies and brings up scientific, peer-reviewed articles and papers.) Among other revelations was the finding that the particular blood pressure medication also depleted magnesium which apparently helps to lower blood pressure. From memory, I'd found that when I looked for 'Nutritional deficiencies caused by medication'.

My blood pressure, even with medication, was not low enough so I added magnesium to my daily vitamin/mineral regime and it's gone down to a much healthier level.
