Weight gain
This is really strange.
I am putting on half a kilo every day and it all seems to be around my stomach.
I now look like I am ready to give birth at any time.
It is not from food.
Cup of coffee without milk and sugar when I get out of bed.
Another cup of coffee around 8 am.
2 slices of raisin toast and a cup of coffee for lunch.
Cup of coffee in the afternoon.
Dinner in the evening, usually more vegies than meet.
Cup of coffee before bed.
Nothing there to account for the weight gain.
I am on my feet most of the day, very rarely sit down for long.
GP cannot offer an explanation and up here, because of the reluctance of doctors to live outside the big smoke, there is an 8 week waiting list to see the GP.
I would so dearly like to look like a normal person and and not a pregnant senior.Every day is better than yesterday
Cheers

Your thyroid could be playing up, but as the growth is in one area, not overall, I’m not too sure about it though, personal experience with that.
Another possibility is a growth in the abdominal cavity, which is something I would be heading south to get looked at quicker than in 8 weeks time. This happened to one of my brothers, he felt fine otherwise. The outcome for him, if left, would not have been good at all.
If you really are adding half a kilo a day, then in 8 weeks you’ll be 28 kg heavier.
Heading south and seeking medical advice, is what I would be doing.
Mick.

Its a no brainer, pester the experts till you get someone to see IMMEDIATELY, 8 weeks could be too late to fix the problem, dont be a vain male, be a woos and get it checked out NOW
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

weight gain
G'Day Saisay,
Coupla suggestions. I assume you are not pregnant and if you are I wanna be your manager as we can make a fortune!!!
Measure your waist in the morning and again before you go to bed.
Keep a diary of the measurements.
If your waist has expanded so much you can't see your feet, then look in a mirror morning and night and see if your feet are swollen.
If they are measure those as well,
Keep an eye on your poop. What colour, how often, constipation, diarrhoea
then do what the others have suggested and get to see a doctor, but armed with some stuff he may wanna know.

It seems to be all fluid retention.
I have to limit my fluid intake, however, my impaired kidney function does not like that idea and I can't have fluid tablets for the same reason.
I have got pressure stockings from the occupational health therapist and my legs are starting to look normal but my weight has ballooned to 97.6 kg with my 155 cm frame, that is ginormous.
A bit difficult to put a pressure garment on the belly.
Maybe I am expecting triplets?
My poor back is suffering from the weight in front so, when I see the orthopedist at the end of the months I am going to ask what they can do about it.
Campbell Newman seems to think seniors do not need health care, hence the very long waiting list.
Maybe he is hoping we will die from old age before we reach the top of the listEvery day is better than yesterday
Cheers
