new fencing
i just had 6 days off work and the wife has been on my back to do some fencing
we have a minature pony and an australian stock horse 6 years(gelded) and they both want to be boss when i saw the stocky picking up our miny i thought the time had come to build some fences, we did have them seperated by electric fence after seeing the big boy try to pick up the little one but i like the look of permanent ones
on the ends and gates i used 100x100 t/p posts in a H pattern with an extra support on top, star pickets every 2 m with 5 strands of 3.15 wire.
i killed 1 starpicket when i found a hidden log under the ground and spent a few hours in the rain getting it out any way that should do the fencing for a while
cheers
greg

That's a good looking fence, Greg, and thanks for the pics.
I went off plain wire for the bottom two strands after a few incidents of greasy heel following horses rubbing their hooves along the strands, but our eldest, on the place now, does as you have done.
All the best.
