    Default Neighbors with weeds!

    What do you do when your neighbor ignores his weed problem?

    I can see serated tussok, Pattersons Curse, blackberry, St Johns Wort - acres of it and nothing happening about it.

    Short of moving, what would you do in this situation?

    Not 100% sure but I thought farmers were liable for fines if they didn't keep down noxious weeds? Might want to look into it with the local shire/council offices?
    It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

    I agree with Bazza.
    The Rural Lands Protection Board (The new version of the PP Board) has noxious weed inspectors who are supposed to inspect rural properties for the aforesaid noxious weeds.
    If the land holder does not make a fair attempt at erradication, the RLPB can go onto the place and spray at the landholder's expense.
    BUT...it's always better to attempt negotiotion rather than confrontation, especially with neighbours.

    Thanks for the replies. I have had the local council's 'weeds & seeds' inspectors out, on the pretext of advising me about some suspected weeds. Would you believe it, but these were in easy sight of the neighbor's fine crops... .

    AFAIK, the RLPs in NSW are only interested in dingos, pigs etc, not the weeds per se. Nevertheless I will try them too.

    I think that a conversation is the way to go, I hope I can keep myself under control and not say too much...
