That is an awful homecoming!

You may be able to recover from this, but there is no escaping the amount of work. Huge amount of work. The bodies of the planes could be treated with electrolysis and the soles lapped later (At least this part can be doing it's thing while you have a calming beer.). The blades and cap irons can be sanded with W&D paper like you would a hand saw blade. The hardest part will be the lever caps where the chrome finish has rust penetration. You can clean it up, but it is never going to look the way it came from the factory. The handles can be re-finished of course.

I can appreciate how gutted you must feel. My sister has apparently had the same issue (I don't think it was with hand planes) with plastic buckets and the thinking is that it is condensation, although your experience seems extreme.

A small annoying issue has popped up, something I didn’t think about before.

Is that we now have too use a PO Box for all our mail, Australia post won’t deliver to us because we live on a Unsealed road(it’s very drivable [emoji849]), which is about 400 metres from a sealed road, an too make maters worse we are approximately 6 minute drive from town we’re the Local Post office is.

Using a PO Box is not really an issue, that doesn’t concern us mush, the only mail we get is not covered in love heats an smells beautiful.
It’s just the normal bill stuff [emoji849].

But I’ve noticed of late it’s getting in the way of my new internet hobby of buying random S…. I suddenly couldn’t believe I’ve lived without.

Not everyone will deliver too a PO BOX, I have noticed,a few Courier companies drop there stuff at the local Tire out let(There the first business you see when coming into town), no problem there picking stuff up.

I could have stuff delivered too family or friends in Melbourne but that’s a bit of pain too.

Any suggestions around this ??

Any good stuff you could send to me and I could say I never saw it.

Talk to your local post office. There was/is an 'alternative' addressing scheme for po boxes that fools many address checkers.

Follow up on Russ's suggestion and talk to the local PO. I know many people our way living out of town have the same issue. We have a PO Box as well as a street address. I often include both in my address.

So the generator started playing up, it’s only 8 months old, run time maybe 10 hours, that would be hardly run it.

But ,this might explain everything !!!

Obviously I’ve done a comparison between the new Fuel and the crap fuel.
This now means I have to go to a local town to fill up the Gerri cans.
Bonus of that and you oldies will like this , the Bp in St Arnaud, has drive way service, yep ,that right pull up and they pump the fuel for you.

Matt, petrol doesn't have a very long shelf life. Next time you add fresh fuel put in some fuel saver additive. I do this with my fire pump which I typically fire up annually at the start of summer to make sure it is working and I don't replace the fuel annually.

never had a problem or concern with PO staff.
