Cheers Hugh, I can watch these two all day when they do this.
The photography is very challenging because as you well know they are a ball of moving fur when they do this, so time to compose a shot os very short.
I actually use the camera in burst mode, chachunk, chachunk, chachunk . . . . and take 5-6 photos in a row. I ended up taking 85 shots to get those 8. The rest were mainly black and white blurs.

Default Bloody expensive critters these dogs.

This evening the dogs were well and truly hyped up playing chasey and showing off while a visitor was showing us her slides of her 4 month stay in Antarctica. The display mechanism was our video projector which we have had for about 5 years and it projects from inside a high (2m) built in cupboard on one side of our family room onto the opposite wall. To connect to a PC we pull down the VGA cable and hook in.

We were about 1/4 of the way into the slides when the dogs got tangled up in the VGA cable and pulled the projector onto the floor. There was a bang followed by a splintering of plastic and glass and needless to say is probably beyond repair.

SWMBO blames me for not installing a wireless system she suggest back before Xmas - you can't win around here!

We adopted an ex-racing greyhound and we have the same problem with trying to photograph her. Greyhounds can reach up to 70 kph. I find the "sport" setting on the camera is best.

    Default Pills and Pets

6 month Skye is in Doggie hospital after eating a bunch of Advils this morning. SWMBO left a packet on the bed and pup must have got up and run off with the whole pack. The first sign was we spied Skye with something blue in her mouth and then realized it was an Advil. The bedroom floor was littered with bits of foil and empty packs, we found all bar 9 of the capsules and had to assume she had eaten them so off to the vets for a stomach pump. They only found a portion of one in the gut so the rest must have dissolved. She's currently asleep on a drip - we are a bit worried and hope she is gonna be OK.

    Hi Bob,
It's a worry, I've had a couple of episodes of racing 2 Jack Russells after a rolling pill, so far I have always won. (only because I had a start)
Hope she has a speedy recovery.
    Regards
    Hugh

    Thanks Hugh,

The good news is she made it through the night OK. Right now now she is still in hospital on a drip having her system flushed. She might still have some kidney damage - the question is if she does, how much damage this will be.

The vet called and said Skye's tests were all clear and she has just arrived home. She seems as chipper as ever - can't see how we can keep her quiet.

Good news. Our Vet told us once"they are their own worst enemies". I think they just like to put us through our paces. Have I said they are beautiful?

The dogs went nuts today when I started the chainsaw to mill up this small log so I had to lock them in the laundry. The little one just throws itself at the running chainsaw - quite frightening really. Anyway when I let them out they fleetingly posed for an "OK we'll sit for 1 microsecond while you take the photo" - had to set them up and try to take it about 5 times to get this one.

Bob, it must be the operating frequency. My youngest pup tries to attack both the whipper snipper and the chainsaw when they at at idle.

    Boofheads indeed!

The other thing that gets my dogs up from their beds is the compressor triggering. They want to tear the compressed air nozzle apart when air comes out of it.

I had a lassie dog some years back. Trying to start the mower got her off, tried to bite the chassis. Had to put her inside, but funnily once it was running she lost interest.
