Lumpectomy
Our Older border Collie, Willow, who is 11 developed a 20c size lump on her back a few years ago and we had it tested and it turned out to be from a blocked skin gland and non-malignant so we left it. A couple of months ago it started to get bigger and then it burst and some horrible gunk came out, Vet said it got infected. Willow was put on antibiotics and the lump was retested - still not malignant but it swelled up again even bigger than before and burst again so vet reckons it would keep doing this unless it was removed.
Being 11 years old and because she reacted badly to her previous anaesthetic I was a bit reluctant, but the vet tested her with a small dose on a a different anaesthetic and it all worked out OK. As you can see it was a sizeable incision as the base of the cyst had spread quite a long way.
Here she is in her cone of shame.
She is perfectly stoic dog and will have to keep the cone of shame on for another 6 Days..

Hi Bob,
I saw your title and thought "Oh, No" but then saw the photos. Glad the surgery wasn't performed on you. Hope Willow gets better really quickly.
The coffee is still instant if you're in Booragoon!
