Hutch is a very well behaved dog and seems to have no "baggage" as far as temperment and bad habits .He is very calm and friendly and accepts every one he meets.
He likes to spend most of his time inside where its cooler , venturing out every so often on "patrol" to check out what's happening .His patrols last from 10 -15 mins every hour or so , he does a quick recce around the yard ,and takes a longer look across the road where he knows a cat resides.

He loves his daily walks ,and goes into excitement mode when I pick up his lead .He runs to the gate and sits there until I put his lead on and we exit for our walk.

On the website and in the booklet the kennel sent with him , Hutch was described as an outside dog ,but he just took to being an inside dog almost immediately.

Hes a great dog and has quickly adapted ot our life style and won our hearts as soon as we laid eyes on him.

I'm really glad I adopted him ,best thing I have every done ,and would highly recommend rescue adoption to any one. The hardest part is choosing the dog , if you can spend some time with them before you adopt that would be best .In my case I had to rely on the judgement of the kennel where he was fostered ,but I am glad to say that the kennel owner has an very good eye for the breed and gave an accurate description.

I'm very proud of Hutch ,when we walk , he just ignores the barking fence charging dogs and continues to look forward as he walks past.No pulling on the lead and trying to fight.
Dogs that rush out at us through open gates, he spins around and stares them down ,only once did he grab a Chiuawa (sp?) (you know those mexican rat dogs ) by the head and give it a flick .This ankle biting excuse for a dog (every man to his own I suppose) was very persistant and pursued us up the street for a long way way before Hutch's patience wore out.
I'm guessing the little dog was lucky as Hutch could have easily crushed its skull.

I have to thank you again Meggles for posting that link ,If it wasn't for you I would probably wouldn't have found Hutch and would be a miserable old goat by now .

    Cheers
    Kev.

Got the new battery for the camera and shot a few quickies tonight .
I will try to get some daylight ones over the weekend.
The red colouration on his feet and coat is from the red soil around here .
He will get a bath during the week.

Took Hutch to Knotts' Crossing on the Katherine River for a swim this afternoon ,he enjoyed the chance to cool off and to have alook around.
Knotts is the original crossing for the Darwin road ,its not used any more and the council has turned it into a reserve.

Beautiful dog . Love the colouring.

Dont know what it is with Huskys ,Hutch has a nice raised bed ,but he prefers to sleep underneath it ,like Suki in the cupboard. Sitka did the same thing ,must be a security thing.

Ah yes the moulting ,I think Hutch has started ,yesterday when we got back from the river and he had dried off ,I raked his coat out and it was coming out in clumps.
Will have to keep it up ,unless we want a hair storm in the house.
The birds like the wool for nesting .
I asked my missus if she would grow a wart on her nose and then I would get her a spinning wheel so she could spin the wool into yarn and make wooly socks.

Cant print what she said in reply.
