1/4” Masonite pegboard
Does anyone know if we have 1/4” pegboard in aus? I’ve found the obvious bunny’s 3.2mm white face stuff and see it’s also available as 4.8. I’d prefer natural (not white face) and 1/4” but I can’t seem to find anywhere in Victoria.
I could drill the holes myself but it’s a pretty daunting task in a 24x12 sheet!

Isn't the reverse side plain?
My bunnings pegboard is, not sure about the thickness though.
On that point what makes the thickness important?
Cheers, Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Yes the reverse side is plain although not smooth. Not hugely import though.
The thickness is just to maximize strength, it’s a 2 x 1 area of tool storage so whilst the other sizes will work I’d prefer to do this only once.
I’ve found a board producer who does 6mm ply in all sorts of pegboard.

Hi Lee roy,
Fair enough,
mine's around that size, and without thinking it through enough, I secured it with a few vertical battens.
Not a good idea as it limited where I could place the pegboard hooks.
If I was doing it again, I would do a frame around the edges.
Also, if you don't have the hooks yet, these are excellent - https://www.shopfittingsstore.com.au...-slatwall.html
About $50 posted for 100 hooks, they hold well!
Hope this helps, Jeff

Thanks for the link to the hooks, that is helpful!!
My plywood supplier can do it, but the price is eyewatering. About $300 for a 2400x1200 sheet! Looks like 3.2mm it is. Groan.

Maybe a dumb idea but could you glue two sheets together to make 6.4mm or would the hooks not fit?

Hi Pete,
Yes that is do-able also, a bit of mucking around but would achieve the desired outcome.
