10mm thick timber boards?
Im looking to make some boxes (finger jointed ends) out of 10mm thick timber.
I want the dimensions of the boxes to be 210(h) x 200(w) x 400(d).
What I'm after is some timber boards in 10mm thick by 200 wide.. Can anyone recommend anything decent I can find either salvaged or new?
For example I have plenty of 100mm kauri floorboards that are 22mm thick which if milled in half would come out an acceptable 9mm thick but its a pain the ass & then I have to join them together to get a 200 wide board also.. If i could find something like kauri in my ideal 10 x 200 dimensions I'd be stoked..
Im in carlton victoria.

I would expect it would not be easy to purchase 200 x 10 straight off the shelf as its the kind of thing that would be prone to a lot of drying faults. I suspect your best bet would be to try and source a 200x50 or 200/75 thats well and truly dry and resaw that down.

Hi
I've just made a 140 mm high box out of 90 mm wide and 8mm thick teak (resawn on a bandsaw from 20 mm boards).
To get the 140mm I joint 2 of them with titebond III. The joint is hardly visible. I've made a very simple gluing jig and used small wedges to clamp the boards together. The join is rock solid. I can show you how to do it.
