Thread: Wanted: 2nd hand Blackbutt flooring

I need about 12-15 sq metres of 2nd hand blackbutt t&g flooring to complete my new flooring. Unfortunately, I only have offcuts and poor quality leftover from original amount purchased.

Specifically I need is 98-100mm wide x 22mm thick 2ND HAND Blackbutt.

This size is common enough in Cypress, and other pines, but I'm finding out, quite rare in hardwood, especially blackbutt (apparently not milled this size since 1910!), and impossible to find in Sydney and elsewhere at moment.

I may be able to get TALLOWWOOD this size but need to check compatibility issues, ie. if polished will look too different.

As I intend to LIMEWASH after sanding this may not be an issue, but I'm not sure.

Remilled or new blackbutt is not really an option as such timber won't have the patina or used quality of what I already have through most of the house.

Is there anyone sitting on some 2nd hand blackbutt floorboards out there - and any ideas on the tallowwood option?
