    Default 6mm - 12mm woods

    Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a place that sells timber 6mm -12mm thick in the Sydney or Newcastle area. I'm looking at laser cutting hoop pine (or something similar) but not having much luck finding any suppliers at that thickness.

I also don't want to use a ply as the bonds give differing results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks got that. I'm hoping or something about 200mm - 300mm wide. I have found some at 25mm deep by will cost too much to thin down.

    Good Morning Budgi

Your local small joinery can probably help you by cutting the timber on their bandsaw. For a modest fee they could supply and cut the timber to your specifications - probably the best deal as they can almost certainly source timber cheaper than you. Or they might be willing to cut your timber provided it is obviously clean and free of all risks (nails, grit, dirt).

Another option would be to visit your local mens shed.

Third option might be to ask for assistance on this forum.

No doubt someone else will come up with better strategies.
