    Chris,

What are the workability properties of MC? How does it compare with regards to hardness and grain?

I've seen it finished and I know it has a reputation for being toxic, but that's about all I know.

    Cheers,
    Luke

    Luke,
I can't answer those questions, but I have seen pictures posted on the Forum so other members have used it.
I'm selling it on behalf of a widowed lady whose husband left it. It certainly seems to take finish well.
(I thought you were discarding things, not accumulating!)
    regards
    Chris

    Haha, I am... I am...

But I never got to work with any Mackay Cedar!

    Deep breaths...

It's becoming more and more apparent to me that I'm going to have to buy a summer house (with a workshop and a sawmill) in Australia one day.

Works well, turns well finishes beautifully but the dust is like breathing pepper - I've never worked another timber quite as harsh on the dust side.
