Advice needed: Cabots CFP Floor water based gloss
My brushbox kitchen benchtop needed re-varnishing after 20 years ( I used an oil based product then, can't remember which one) without a new coat.
I chose Cabots CFP Floor water based gloss as it was the least smelly and fastest drying.
I sanded the old coat off and put the first coat, this what it looks after the 3rd coat (see pic 1, though there seem to be slightly better areas pic 2-3. I went back to the hardware store and they think it has to do with too much moisture in the air (have had lots of rain in the last week) and too cool weather (below 20 degrees). Suggested I wait for drier and warmer weather and see if it will improve. Does anybody have any advice? Woulld I have to sand it back again and redo in drier & warmer weather?

Some heat lights would help. Check the moisture content of the bench. It may be that the timber has absorbed more moisture than you realise.
