Default American Black Walnut in SE QLD

Need to bring my desk into the 21st century by adding a compartment to house raisable monitor... So needing a few sticks of 1" black walnut. Preferably I'd like to find a supplier on the sunshine coast but will drive to the big smoke of Bris if needed.

    Anyone got a recommendation?

I’m pretty sure that I bought a length from Britton timbers at Narangba about 8 years ago.

I tried them but they say they only deal with volume and to go somewhere else.

At the foot of this thread there are some links to Forum member Dazza71, who had some Black walnut for sale. Unfortunately it was five years ago so a long shot, but you might try sending him a PM, if nobody else steps up.

With a desk like that, shouldn’t you be using a quill rather than a monitor?

Can't seem to find a Windows 11 compatible quill though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't understand it... I get real funny looks when I ask at the antique stores...

    Hi mate,

I have quite a few boards of 1” black walnut leftover from a job. Happy to ship some up from melb for you if you can pickup from a local depot, I can organise cheap freight.

    Cheers

IIRC, Mathews Timber had some walnut when I was there last week. I'm pretty sure it was black walnut and not Qld walnut. Best call Troy and check before make the trip down.
