Antarctic Beech
Not often you get the opportunity to saw up one of these. This log has been on the ground for some time. It was 3.2m long and 1m in diameter. The centre slabs were exceptional. The customer plans to make a table but there are enough slabs to make 3 or 4. I cut the centre billets into 4x4s for legs.
cheers
Steve

I used to admire the Antarctic Beech at Griffith Furniture near Murwillumbah before they closed down. I'd love to get hold of some someday. I wonder whatever happened to the huge piles of slabs they used to have out there?
