Approx wood pricing
Hi folks,
Frustrated with the limited availability at Bunnings, we’re starting to explore local timber suppliers in the area. The main issue we have is that we haven’t really bought much undressed wood before so I’m curious how it is generally priced (and compared)?
Obviously different species will be priced differently, and quality will play a part. Can anyone give any other tips or advice though?
No mistakes, only lessons.

A little while ago when venturing to buy from mills, I started a spreadsheet with the cubic meter rate of common dimensions across several species.
I started with some of the local hardware shops so that I had a benchmark for when looking elsewhere.
That way I felt more informed, and ensured I wasn't paying over the odds. I am generally not looking for bargains, just a fair price on rough sawn stock.

There’s a timber and hardware near to me that has their timber prices online. Not a huge range but the quality is good.
Heres a link.
