Don't be discouraged by the word pine,...... there is a world of difference between hoop and the common radiata
neither hoop or kauri are actual pines... both much better than pinus crapiata.
I understand both hoop and kauri are OK to chew on and would be the best choices.
Hoop was once called butter box pine because it was the prefered timber for butter boxes as it wouldnt taint the butter.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

building blocks.....
some ideas..........we have made dozens of sets of blocks .......we generally use fairly lightweight timbers , such as obeche or cedar........with my kids and neighbours the kits have been a hit , we run a range of sizes , and shapes more akin to a lego set .....this allows wider range of architecture to be imagined and built...............i have some photos if you send me your e mail......rupert......www.woodworld.com.au
