Default Australian red cedar for sale in the future

My old aunt and uncle are getting out of the farming game later this year and they have a quantity of red cedar that was milled but not dressed into a range of slabs 20 plus years ago that they are thinking of selling - a large quantity has been stacked and stored quite well and some other not that well. Sizes vary from 50mm x 450 x 4000 to 100mm X 350 x 3800. The are in the Mullumbimby area on the north coast of NSW.
I am hoping that I can get a fair price for them and see the timber used by people who love working with cedar.
If you are interested drop me a line indicating what quantity and sizes you may be interested in and I'll contact you when they are ready to sell the timber.

I only wish I could afford some.

I guess it depends on how you want to sell it. Are you looking for cuM type sales or are you interested in selling a "little" bit?

    Thumbs up

    G'Day Phrof,

I would be very interested in the 100mm thick stuff, however, i am only chasing 1 metre of it. Do you think your Uncle would cut a piece off the end, this would still leave him with a good 2.8 metre length to sell. My email address is [email protected] if you wish to contact me.

    Kind regards,
    Pete.

I'm definitely interested. Any idea on what price you might be after and whether it will need to be picked up. If you get confirmed requirements from everyone maybe we can split the delivery? There's a few of us in Sydney so could split delivery down here?

I am also interested. Could you let me know how you plan on breaking it up, if at all.

    Hi Phrof,
Yup - count me in for 2 bits of 50x450x4000. Only prob is that it might be a bit tricky collecting it on my Vespa scooter - I don't have red flag. Perhaps other Brissie Blokes might be willing to share freight? Please let me know when it is available.

    Phrof,

I'm just around the corner from Mullum and will collect if that is easy for you.
How much is there? I bought about 1/3 M3 from around Nimbin last year - can't ever have enough

Not sure that I want a lot but would be particulry interested in any wide boards/slabs of any length 30cm - 4m.

    Keep us posted.
