Just needing some advice for a novice (so forgive me for sounding silly ).

I am making up some teethers to sell, (I go to a lot of baby/kids markets and sell wooden names) so I am trying to research types of safe wood to use. I went off to the local timber supplier today to ask them, generally though they are not much help to me and just give me blank looks. I asked for some non treated wood suitable for baby toys and he gave me some blackbutt, now I have no idea if this ok as he mumbled half the time. So hoping some experts here can shed some light on it for me. Reading the forum a lot of people use it for bowls ect, but just wanting to double check.

Thanks Nat
