Backsawn blackbutt exterior use?
Hi Team,
grateful for advice on using 300x40 backsawn blackbutt as a ramp to the front door for wheelchair access. I'm concerned about cupping of boards, the support structure and protection.
Cupping: will 2 bolts at each end of a board prevent this?
Support structure: 90mm angle iron bolted to koppers log posts?
Protection: oil to maintain colour?
All advice gratefully received.
Thanks
Phil

I shall take it as Coastal Blackbutt (E. Pilularis) strength group #2 (very high stress loads) so ok there, Durability class 2 in worst case scenario moisture in ground with air humidity just right for bacteria = at least 15-25 years servicability, in other words go for it one of the better one s to use. If its not coastal stuff not as good.
