    Default Bandsaw Resaw sled

Made up this resaw sled to cut up some Golden Elm . It will cut up to 1200mm long which is about all that I need . Securing the timber with nails allows flexibility in setting up the first cut . The subsequent cuts were done against a fence .

Well done, thats what I need to do if I had the energy and initiative. I've go a whole camphor laurel tree, ready for milling.

Is that a standard 14" band saw or bigger/riser etc?

Gday Bodgy . The bandsaw is a Jet 18inch - It has 300mm riser and I was using a 1.5TPI bimetal blade . Took me about 3 hours to cut up the branches that I had and at the end the blade was pretty much gummed up and probably needs resharpening as well . Leaving the bark on probably did'nt help

    Hi Peter,

    Great idea!

I've got a pile of resawing to do, and have been battling with the standard Electra beckum fence + higher auxilliary fence; It's ok for shorter pieces, but for longer boards it's a real PITA.

Your idea looks as if it may well help. I'll whizz up a copy tomorrow and see how it goes.

    Cheers!
