Barbary
There is a weed (tree) that grows around here called 'barbary'. it is yellowy- orange. Anyone have a use for it? It does not get too big but could possibly be used for strips (if you like orange)/

Bad spelling
Sorry guys . it's 'Barberry'.
Berberis vulgaris (Barberry)

The info I've found praises it's medicinal value, but don't tell that to the people who are out there weeding. Maybe we should all go out and graze on the stuff, not make pens out of it. it's not ossage by the way.

A bit of googling shows it to be the wood of choice for making a supelka
A bit more googling shows that to be a small flute from the Balkans.
http://www.macedoniadirect.com/instruments/supelki.htm
So I guess if you can make a flute from it, it must be usefull for something
Cheers
