Basic timber deck - stirrup distance?
Hello,
I've drawn a simple plan for a deck I want to construct in the coming month.
It will be an extension of my current rear concrete-paver verandah, over a current concreted area and runs along side the rear wall of my house.
The height of the verandah and deck is 390mm.
The deck dims are 3800mm x 2500mm, which is the same as the concreted area it is going to be constructed on.
I will be using ACQ treated pine 90x22 + Bearers 140x45 (doubled up) + Joists 90x45.
Bearers will be 1250mm apart.
Joists will be 450mm apart.
Joist hangers will be used.
Decking will have a 5mm gap.
I do not want to use ledger-bearers as the house wall is rendered brick and there are a couple of pipes running just behind it.
It will be a free-standing deck on stirrups 200x90 which will be bolted straight onto the bearers.
Could someone confirm how far apart the stirrups should be please?
I have looked at several posts, and I'm now confused.
Please refer to the attached jpg.
Many thanks,
Pat

Bearer spans 2/140x45 @ 1250 centres.
MGP10= 3.000 cantilever .900
F7 = 2.900 cantilever .800
F5 = 2.600 cantilever .700
the above are from TABMAR TABLES.

Thanks so much rustynail,
I'm pretty sure that Bunno's ACQ TP is F5, but if not, no harm in setting this as my guide.
You mentioned TABMAR TABLES.
Could you tell me what they are and where I can locate them?
I've searched the net, with no results.
Thanks again,
Pat

Just google pine span tables. You'll be spoilt for choice.

Eureka!
That's awesome.
When the deck is done, I'll mix some rustynails for my dad, dad-in-law and myself, and we'll toast you on the deck.
Thanks for your time and assistance rustynail.
