I haven’t done any stringing before but bought 10-20 pieces of African Blackwood not long ago. Does it need to be perfectly flat, or because of the relative thinness and flexibility is it ok if not flat? If it doesn’t need to be flat then I have a few pieces I could send over (I think they are about 400mm in length and 6mm thick).
I also know someone who has very large (110x110x2000mm) pieces of Solomon Islands ebony. Dark stuff and good. He cuts to length too. Another option, cheap but heavy stuff.

JW, I very much appreciate your generous offer. However, I have found a source, and have ordered what will be needed.
Thanks once again.

Yeah , Black probably means Ebonised sycamore or what ever they use , sand it and it goes grey .
Graeme Brown has both Ebonised sizes and Solid Ebony if its in stock still. Ring them .
The website isn't so good, its old and I dont think it will be getting better any time soon, if ever.
Or I can get a picture of whats on the board tomorrow, I can get my Brother to take a picture or two.
Ill have a go in the morning and post them .
Edit . I didn't see page 2 of this thread when replying . I thought post 15 on page one was the last .
You have ordered . Ill show this any way .
I found a picture of the Ebony / Ebonised stringing I took a couple of years ago which I have saved.
The level in stock now will have changed .
The lengths are 1 meter I think . Not 100% sure with that .
The top 7 bundles are Ebonised the Bottom 4 are Ebony. Id have to check on that detail as well, it could be wrong .

Rob, many thanks for the effort. Please do not go to any trouble. I did try and post earlier to let you know that I do have what I need at this time, but the forum software shut me out.

No probs Derek.
I did call the shop and I was sent some pictures . No going out of my way big time for that , I do it all the time . Justin my brother and I have an almost daily sms thing going. No point in putting the latest Ebony pictures up if you have solved it though .
