    Default Is this black wattle?

Hi, a couple of years ago I bought some scrap timber from an NQ sawmiller and finally got around to dressing it, but have forgotten the name. My wife thinks the sawmiller said it was black wattle, but it doesn't look like it in the reference books I have looked at. It is quite a hard timber too.

Can anyone please suggest what it might be?

Looks very like black wattle, except for the white flecks - which suggest might be black bean?

+1 the grain is consistent with Black Bean. Nice to turn / work but can have some nasty splintering at times. Splinters hurt more than most too!

Another +1 for Blackbean. Be careful when working it, many people are extremely allergic, not me but our club president was carted off in an ambulance
