    I hope so. I gave one to a friend for a wedding pressy. (Not one I'd made BTW.) 'twas years ago. And they are not dead yet.

    Good question. I've also seen 'em around, but personally I won't use any spalted wood for a food item, just to be on the safe side.

    I seal the inside of mine with shellac anyway.

    I lived in Tassie for a few years and they sell them everywhere. at all the markets , galleries, so people from all walks of life are still living, because I have met people on there return trips.

    Tasmanian Craftwoods have been turning & selling them for years through galleries and craft outlets.




    These are produced on the old copy lathe that originally produced the Titan chisel handles at Stanley-Titan Hobart.
