Brisbane (or nearby) timber suppliers
Hi All
I'd imagine this questions has been asked a number of times so apologies in advance. I am beginning to get into the woodworking hobby and was wondering if anyone can recommend some furniture grade timber suppliers anywhere nearby Brisbane (also happy to travel up or down coast).
Also, are there many timber suppliers that will dress the timber as part of the purchase also?
cheers
Dan

I grow timber and have a small sawmill and am located exactly next door to the Sunshine Coast. I sell a little bit of wood from the farm here and you would be welcome to visit . I have at the moment, quite a lot of Silver Ash including some good big pieces. I've also got some Red Cedar, Flooded Gum and other rainforest species. I'd probably sell the wood from about $1000 to $3000 a cubic metre depending on the wood, quality and size of board. I don't dress the wood but I do have a neighbour who just might.

Thanks Bob. I just got some goodies for Christmas so will be getting my practice in over the coming months. I'll happily reach out for some timber when Im ready for some nicer timber (I. E. When my skills are a bit better). Thanks again and hope you had a good Christmas

I have a similar question to duncada, but I have very limited storage space so buying by the cubic metrewould not be feasible. Are there any suppliers who will sell in small quantities?

G'day - try Watts Wood & Mouldings (pops up on Google) - they're at Salisbury and have some offcut bins with a lot of quality woods. Fair prices and they were very pleasant the times I've been.
