Brisbane Turning Supplies?
Hey Guys,
I've only found one place that sells turning blanks etc. They dont have an especially stellar range, which is hardly surprising seeing they really sell equipment and only stock timber as a convienience.
Do you know of anywhere that sells burl and blanks around brisbane? somewhere I can drive to and have a look around?
Thanks,

M-R Surely there must be Woodturners/clubs in Brisbane who have access to the local knowledge base for timber blank/supplies.
Another source is the Australian Woodworker magazine always has Ads for timber etc often with access to the exotics.
Check your yellow pages also check with the city gardens dept for their trimmings that may help you gain access to some unusual timbers.

Here are 2 really good sources for turning blanks of all shapes and sizes:
South East Queensland Woodworking Supplies
(It's down at Yatala on the same road the Yatala Pie shop is on.)
Vermec Machinery
3/39 Dalton St, Kippa Ring.
(I just went there today for the first time to pickup up a shorter toolrest).
They have a great selection of blanks and tools for woodturning as well. How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
