Brush Box and Camphor Laurel coming down next week
Hello
I have two big trees coming down next week in Brisbane. I would prefer the timber to go to good home as the arborist is just going to chip them. Is anyone interested?
regards

Thanks for the offer.
I've got enough, but for others:
- where in Bris is it?
- what is access like?
- what do you call big?

The trees are in Toowong. Access is good. About three metre wide gate right next to the trees.
Brush box is about 52cm in diameter and then it branches into two branches. I estimate 8 - 10 metres tall. Taller than the two storey house.
Camphor Laurel has a short big trunk about 90/95 in diameter and then branches into three trunks about 40cms in diamter. It is also about 8 to 10 metres tall.
I can get the arborist to cut up some of the trunks and leave them for people to collect.

I've just had the great fortune to partake in a woodturning course with Richard Raffan. I brought in a heap of Camphor Laurel for students to do some green turning and (as I have a ton of it) found to my great delight from Richard that CL not only turns superbly when green, it is very stable and once turned dries quickly. So my suggestion to you Brisbanites is to grab the opportunity to pick some CL and have some fun
