Bugs in Timber
Hi Fellow Woodies
I have just got some Red cedar and silky in the round and slabbed bark to bark and its got borers in the sapwood piles of dust everywhere. I dont want them to get into the rest of my hord and was wondering the best way to get rid of them i have a knap sack sprayer also a tub I could give them a dip in but what is the best to use I dont want anything thats going to get me too. help wouuld be appreciated.

Soak the timber in turps, it kills the insect eggs as well.

Strip out the timber and cover with a Tarp.
Seal around the edges with weight on the tarp edges( eg: bricks dirt rocks)
Lift a section and insert a few roach bombs.
Leave for 24 hours.
This is a poor mans fumigation.
Works for lyctus beetle.Hooroo.
