Where to buy timber on Central Coast, NSW?
Hi all,
Finally got my Triton Router Table (with finger jointer) set up to go along with the table saw
but I need to find suppliers of good quality timber on the Central Coast, NSW.
I know there is a Bunnings (where aren't they) but they only stock pine pretty much and I am looking for some more exotic type timbers.
If anyone knows of such a place somewhere on the coast, could they let me know please?
Thanks

Alex,
Just the thing I am looking for!! Thanks. To think I have lived on the coast for over 20 years and never knew of this place. Then again wood working has only become a recent interest.
Even have an online shop for timber too!!
If ever we meet I'll shout you a beer - or two!!
Cheers

Too fast, Alex!
I was going to give Steve at the Bunker a plug, so I'll have to throw these in instead...
Mal from Boutique Timbers usually attends the Newcastle Wood show.
If you want anything special in size or type, in particular cedar, rosewood, jarrah river red gum, huon, etc., call him on 0265 858296 and let him know.
And others have dealt happily with the Specialty Wood centre in Toronto.

And I usually visit Trend Timbers at Windsor when I visit my folks

and you can sometimes grab a bonus if you check out the building material recyclers (Ace Cres, Tuggerah, and the one on the corner of the Pacific Hwy just east of the Wyong sawmill)
Cheers,
Andrew

Try Marshalls Timber on Main Rd, Cardiff. Very good selection of very size you would ever need.
Hooroo.

Lumber Bunker has some nicely priced pieces for boxmaking in a variety of timbers. Your eyes will be hanging out. Definitely worth a visit just to see what timber is available.

Geez I didn't realise there were so many outlets out there for this!! I'd asked my Dad as he has built some stuff over the years but he could only think of some places in Sydney - wasn't even sure if they were still in business.
There is a definite trip to Lumber Bunker coming up though!! I might even look at their classes as I am very much a novice at this still.
Thanks again all.Woodworker - try woodkiller!! :p

I did a similar thing.
I moved to the other side of town and was asking around and looking in the phone book for a supplier of furniture grade ply when somebody recommended Brim's Ply to me... Turned out they were in the street across the road from where I lived
Didn't I feel like a right twit
Cheers

Strider, take your money/cards with you as you always find something that you cannot leave without!

Steve, just gotta convince the missus that I "need" to go there and I'll be there!!
Max, that's pretty funny, and probably even worse than my story!! I live about half an hour or so from West Gosford - not far - but to live that close and not know - now that's a classic!!
Pat, I spoke to the wife last night about finding the Lumber Bunker - her comment "How much is this gonna cost!!"
She knows me only too well!! Still, if she is expecting it already then who am I to disappoint her.....Woodworker - try woodkiller!! :p
