Cheap planks in Adelaide
Hi all,
I'm relatively new to woodworking but am trying to source some cheap timber planks in Adelaide and I'm not sure where to go.
I'm looking for something in the region of 250mm wide by 40-50mm high and would need about 10 linear metres.
I've tried the usual sources e.g. Bunnings and Softwoods etc but can't find anything under about $15 per linear metre which is too much for what I need it for (I was trying to make some cheap car ramps as am not happy about the poor quality of steel ones these days).
Something like this: Mustangworld - Build yourself some ramps !
Any ideas where I can look? I don't need it to be pretty or dressed etc, just solid.
Thanks in advance!

Have a look on gumtree. Look for an old table or pallets. If you don't want to pay up front for timber, get some free stuff and pay with your time making it suit your application.

Look at landscaping suppliers - hardwood 1/2 sleepers but they aren't 250mm wide.
