    Default confused about the species

I hope you are able to identify this timber for me before I commit it to the fire. The one on the left I am 90% sure is jarrah but the other I suspect could be blackwood in which case, as I have a fair amount, I will keep. It was retrieved from old parliament house in sa.
Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.

Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

They're a bit too blurry/grainy to see properly, but I'm thinking Redgum.

I'm pretty confident it's not Blackwood, but there's an easy way to test that; if you can't dent it with a fingernail, it's probably not Blackwood.

Problem solved. I'm 90% sure it is jarrah just from older trees.
