Conkerberry?
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering whether anyone might have any blocks, boards or uncut logs of conkerberry they'd be willing to part with (for a price or from the goodness of their hearts).
I'm mostly after pieces with about 5cm X 2cm x 20-30cm of orange heartwood

I have some uncut small logs at home, that may provide a piece of that size, but I am down south at the moment. Something like the piece you are after though is a decent lump, I assume without holes/voids, and hence it would take cutting quite a few pieces to find it. So even with the goodness of my heart it wouldn't necessarily be cheap .

Good luck finding those sizes. From my experience it is difficult to get anything anywhere near that size in "orange heartwood" only.

Thought as much....just figured it was worth a try since you never know what obsessive wood hoarding people might have stashed away/might be willing to part with for a price...
I wouldn't mind a bit of sapwood, and i'd be happy to buy a bunch of smaller pieces too provided i can get some sections with minimal cracking out of them.
I need it for some small areas of veneering on a cabinet and possibly basic pen sized turned pieces for said cabinet too

Hi Fudo. I can probably help you as I have some (small logs & some cut bits) but it will be difficult to find in your pref. sizes, as others have said. Pen size is probably OK. Pricey as it comes a long way and good material is hard to find and recovery small and losses horrendous. PM me (again) if you dont have any and are still interested. Maybe come here anbd have a look. I'm in Warragul. Eug
