Bamboo
This morning I thinned out the clumping bamboo along my back fence. It is there to provide a privacy screen and does a very good job of it.
Now I have a number of lengths of bamboo, some are more than 8 meters long with a base diameter of over 70mm and wall thickness of over 20mm.
It must be useful for something , but I really can't think what.
With a wall thickness of 20mm , I could get lots of pen blanks, but that is all I have come up with so far.
Does anyone have any ideas?
What is the best way to dry it out?

I have seen scaffolding in Nepal for a three story of a building made of bamboo. It is IMO one of the most amazing and versatile materials around. Search bamboo forum on the net and you will get tons of ideas. I have made Jews Harps, end blown and fipple flutes, xylophone things, screens and guitar stands from bamboo. My brother had a pavillion in his backyard Brissie made out of bamboo, very Bali. It can be carved as well.
To dry it stack it in a dry place. The longer it ages the better it is reputed to get. The best bamboo for Shakuhachi is dried in chimneys and roofs for 30 + years. Do you know what species you have? Mostly around Sydney it is Green Bamboo.
And if you want to get rid of some.....
