    Default Cotton Wood

    Hi everyone,

    I have the offer of some Cotton wood tree's to mill and I'm wondering if it would be a viable propersition or not !
    So I serpose my question is what it is used for or is there a market for it ?

    If its what the Yanks call Cotton Wood, then its regarded as being pretty poor firewood or landfill. It could be Kapok, which is I think another low density/strength wood.

    Default The Cotton Wood ?

    Hi Mal,
    Down in Terang, Vic. there is an Avenue of Cotton Wood Poplars.
    If Memory serves me, they are Heritage Listed.
    Do you think these are one & the Same.
    But many years ago 1 fell over, & I into it with the Chainsaw, & left it for my Parents to use on the open fire.
    One Day I decided to take some home & turn it. WOW, it was beautiful inside.
    Didn't take long to dry either. As for milling it, I know nothing.
