Cottonwood bark - for carving
Hello,
i have been following Doug Linker on Youtube and he often uses Cottonwood bark for carving faces. Doug is in Canada, but was wondering if we have anything similar or equivalent in Australia.
The stuff that Doug uses has a nice knurly bark with an easy to carve red/orange coloured wood underneath.
We do have trees called Cottonwood here in Perth but the bark is very smooth.
Cheers
Mal
