Crow's Ash to Give Away
I have recently had cut a large Crow's Ash tree, Flindersia australis, perhaps know as Teak in NSW. Although the best logs are to be swan to fill an order, I am happy to give away all the other pieces which are mostly the tops but also large bends. I'm located near the Sunshine Coast. I also have some similar Red Cedar to give away well. Some of this has already been snug to a more accessible location with the better logs. If interested, give me a call on 54866147.

Sawing up the Log.
We cut up most of the tree today and this was the large butt log. PC150007.jpg

Season it out carefully in this hot weather Bob,as Crows Ash has a habit of surface checking, and it can be severe. This is one species that should be milled in the cooler months.Lovely log that one..MM

Carl, Thanks for that. I'll selling it green off the saw as I prefer, at least for now while I'm getting my self set up and so forth. I'll pass the information on . It was an impressive log with very few faults. We have also cut up quite a few top logs as well.

Crow's Ash
Angryranga,
Yes, I have both sawn boards to sell and all the left overs to give away. Unfortunately, the people who arranged to have the tree cut and the wood sawn up have reneged on the deal which I am most upset about. I know that I am stupid to trust some people but there it goes. They took some, and then only paid for some of that, agreeing that they would come back and collect the rest of it but I have not heard of them since. A few people have shown an interest in all the branches, bends and so forth but so far, no has come to collect any of it.

With these branches and small logs, I can cut one or two flat sides with my mill so that someone with a small band saw has a flat surface that he can work from.

Hi Bob,
I have tried to call a couple of times but could not get you. I am interested in getting some of this timber I am near Imbil so could get away to have a look when possible to suit you. (I will call again as well.)
Regards Rod.
