Love the kitchen bench top. I've got some CA pen blanks and knife handle blanks. I've started using one for my first ever go at carving something. You're right - it is seriously hard! But I'm having a lot of (ham-handed) fun with it.

The moment you've all been waiting for...

So finally we could get in the kitchen space last Thursday to install the kitchen and this Crows ash bench top.
Won't go into to much detail as pictures tell a thousand words, so they say.

Carcass are in with bench top site joint glued up in epoxy, bench top connectors and screw fixed to carcass.

Close up of corner piece and mitre all glued up.

    More to come!

Won't keep you boys waiting then!

Friday we were back finishing off the kitchen doors, sanding bench top and put the first coat of country oil on to seal it. Didn't take any pic's.

Today we went back to measure splash backs as client made a decision over the weekend.

    Dishwasher and sink side.

    Oven and cooktop side

    Close up of internal corner.

Close up of how bench top meets rough brick wall.

    Dirk.

Excellent Dirk & Pete! The client musta bin happy with that!

That'll make portfolio pics if they keep up the quality of finish for the rest of the stuff - get it photographed perfessionally - it makes a difference, but hold your hat for the quote.

Exceptional job that! Starting to sound like Ritchie here, but really, the internal corner detail is impressive.
I now understand the built in splashback arrangement in relation to the site.

I'm sure he client will be equally impressed.

Gotta say ... love that splash back. Wouldn't work for my place but that is one piece of art. Nicely done in deed
