Default Cutting To Size in Sydney?

    Hi All,
I just bought 3 raw timber slabs from the woodturners of the hunter! lovely people!

I wanted to get them cut to 400 wide and alas had put them in my car, driven back to sydney before I remembered!

just wondering if there's anyone locally who i could take them to to get them cut down?

    Cheers,
    Tom

What are the dimensions of the slab and where in Sydney?
Do you have a circular saw or a bandsaw?

the slab is currently about 1.7m x 60cm and i wanted it to be 1.7 x 40cm with on side cut straight so it can butt up against a wall.. alas no bandsaw

The thickness of the slab has a fair bit of bearing on what gear would be needed to cut it - for instance a Festo 55 rail saw could cut up to 50mm thick and is readily transported to where the slab is while a bandsaw is not portable & the slab would have to move to it & be fed through the bandsaw without breaking anything (DAMHIK).

Also - what part of Sydney are you in? North, South, East or West & how far out - Penrith is a lot further than Parramatta or Petersham
