Decidedly brown, blackwood?
I bought this big chunk of African blackwood a while ago.
Its very heavy and close grained. I mean it feels like the stuff but there is one problem, after removing all that wax..its....its......its BROWN ...aaahhhhhh.
Decidedly brown like a chestnut.
Is it supposed to change colour over time when subjected to sunlight like lignum vitae or purple heart, or am I stuffed?

i think your stuffed...
chances are it may darken with age, take oregon for example, when it's dressed it is almost pinkish white, yet over time it seems to darken to a warm brown...try asking a exotic timber supplier if you don't find the answer here...
