In my ref. book: 'Trees For South-Eastern Australia' by K.J Simpfendorfer. the common name Manuka is listed as leptospermum scoparium. and described as a multi stemmed shrub growing to 3 - 6 metres.
It is also referred to as the parent type of the modern family of ornamental tea-trees.
Sounds like the common name 'Manuka' means something different in Tassie. Indicates the importance of correct identification and botanical naming of all flora.
